The HPI Connect Club of Hasso-Plattner Institute (HPI) had invited me and other HPI Alumni to talk about our experiences in founding companies. The goal of that event was to give interested HPI students insights by sharing lessons learned. Further the event served as platform to inform students of funding possibiliies provided by the public and private sector.
In my presentation I largely focussed on the question why it matters to bootstrap a startup on a purposeful product idea and why profitability alone is an insufficient motivator.
I enjoyed being there and meeting with students a lot. The talks of my former fellow students Gero Decker (co-founder of Signavio), Thomas Hille and Martin Karlsch (both co-founder of Madvertise) were both interesting and fun.
I thank the HPI Connect Club for organizing this event. They did a great job.
